Description:
The project’s main goal is improving water access, sanitation and hygiene for the target communities. To achieve this goal the project activities will focus on behavioral change through awareness raising on the importance of constructing and usage of sanitation facilities and the importance of keeping water sources from contamination. The project will support the construction of improved latrines for the most vulnerable households while offering cost-sharing support for those households or communities who can participate in the construction works. This approach aims at increasing the ownership and sustainability of the project while allowing a higher number of latrines to be constructed. Furthermore, the project includes intervention in schools and at the community level.
