Description:
The Safe Water Access in Nepal (SWAN) project aims to improve the health and livelihoods of communities in Rukum West, Chaurjahari Municipality, by strengthening the capacity of WASH groups, students, and their families. The project directly targets WASH management committee members, local government representatives, student leaders, teachers, and school communities. It will focus on addressing their specific needs by providing counseling on waste management and infrastructure maintenance, along with support for essential WASH infrastructure such as handwashing systems, drinking water facilities, and toilet construction in schools: construct 3 new gender specific and child-friendly toilets and support for repair and maintenance in other selected schools in Chaurjahari municipality. Community engagement and awareness will be key components of the project.
