Description:
This project will support the Lese Oalai School and local villages in the Gulf Province, Papua New Guinea. Improving the educational facilities through the provision of constructing and refurbishing of school buildings and classrooms including the development of a toilet suite for the students and staff. Providing advanced educational and professional development programs to the students & teachers will improve the standards within the school and community. Development of health programs within the school including the Days-for-Girls project by supply of sanitary dressings and instruction for senior girls at school. The sourcing and provision of clean water from a header lake at the foot of the Owen Stanley Ranges to the school with connection to the local town (Lese Oalai) and to other communities along the course of the water line. Through the resurrection of the Aid Post to increase the functional level of the centre by enlarging, renovating to make it a reasonable workplace, by ensuring that medicines and vaccines are supplied in adequate and reliable quantities and by setting up Continual Professional Development for the health officers. These project initiatives aim to improve the educations standards and the health of the community of Lese Oalai region.
