"Solomon Smiles" aims to work collaboratively with the Provincial Health Department to boost oral health services in rural Solomon Islands. Our approach encompasses infrastructure development, equipment and materials provision to enhance access and quality of oral heatlh services and facilitate workforce retention. Ongoing support and training will enhance equipment longevity and reduce the long term costs. We also foster local capacity through knowledge exchange with volunteers and universities, jointly developing oral health resources. Dental volunteers aid outreach efforts and gather data for provincial oral health strategies, all aimed at alleviating the burden of oral diseases in underserved rural communities.
